Sophie Kendall is a North American artist specializing in drawing, painting, and clay/found object sculptures. Her work explores intimacy, humor, and community, often using three-dimensional clay features to animate idiosyncratic yet relatable ceramic vessels. Sophie was trained in art through her family’s artistic heritage, Waldorf Education, and a BFA from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She also studied art in Spain, Bolivia, and Peru. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sophie now resides in Portland and has shown her work in online exhibitions and at Capizzo Studio Art gallery in Saugatuck, Michigan. She recently completed a Master’s in Social Work and loves working with people creatively, integrating her passion for art and human connection into all areas of her practice.
