Evergreen Coast Captures Media Attention in August 2025

From International Kite Celebrations to Coastal Cuisine, Pacific County Headlines National Travel Features

The Evergreen Coast soared through August 2025 with a series of national and regional media features that celebrated its culture, community, cuisine, and iconic summer events. From kite festivals to historic parks and seaside escapes, the region continues to shine as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most versatile and beloved destinations.

TravelPulse kicked off the month by naming the Evergreen Coast in its feature on “U.S. Coastal Towns That Still Feel Undiscovered”, reinforcing the area’s tranquil charm. NewsBreak recognized the Long Beach Peninsula in its roundup of “15 U.S. Beach Towns Least Affected by Hurricanes”.

Islands magazine offered a glowing spotlight on Oysterville as “Washington’s Sweet Storybook Community”, calling out its old-school coastal charm and incredible seafood. WorldAtlas added to the accolades with lists including “7 Friendliest Towns to Visit in the Pacific Northwest”.

August’s biggest media moment came with widespread coverage of the Washington State International Kite Festival in Long Beach, which made headlines in Europa Press, Discover Our Coast, and multiple event roundup features, including Yahoo, KIRO-TV, and others. The festival was praised for its scale, vibrancy, and multigenerational appeal.

Backed by national acclaim, the Tokeland Hotel made an appearance in The Daily World‘s coverage of Woodfest, highlighting the intersection of craftsmanship, history, and community gathering.

Meanwhile, Morningstar shared news of American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation backing historic small restaurants, with Pacific County featured among the grantees.

The coast also earned love from the hiking and outdoors crowd. Only in Your State named it one of the top “Underrated State Park Beaches”, while The Seattle Times praised seven underrated Washington parks ideal for kayaking and birding. Doggodigest.com highlighted dog-friendly trails in the region, giving pup-loving travelers even more reason to visit.

Additional features included photo stories from Daily Kos at the Northwest Carriage Museum, cultural coverage of Ilwaco Artwalks, and recognition from Ever After In The Woods, which called one Washington coastal eatery a “Small-Town Oasis”.

As summer comes to a close, the Evergreen Coast remains in the spotlight thanks to its commitment to authenticity, accessibility, and vibrant seasonal storytelling.
