Evergreen Coast Headlines September 2025 with Park Updates, Fall Fishing, and Coastal Traditions
Cape Disappointment Renovations, Razor Clams, Oyster Farms, and Harvest Events Dominate Regional and National Coverage
WASHINGTON’S EVERGREEN COAST – With fall ushering in coastal harvests, migratory bird watching, and the promise of razor clam digs, the Evergreen Coast continued to shine in local and national media throughout September 2025. The region drew significant attention for state park renovations, shellfish updates, and quirky seasonal events, showcasing its enduring charm and year-round appeal.
At the forefront of the month’s news was Cape Disappointment State Park’s major closure for renovations, reported by Yahoo, KOMO, KIRO-TV, NewsBreak, Statesman Journal, KATU, and others. WashingtonStateNews.net confirmed that the iconic park will be closed until spring 2026 for extensive improvements.
WorldAtlas highlighted Long Beach as one of “6 Time-Capsule Towns in Washington”, and Islands magazine celebrated the town’s boardwalk as “Washington’s Most Picturesque”. Meanwhile, LoveToKnow added a spooky twist, naming Cape D among “15 Haunted Spots That Still Haunt Me Today”.
On the culinary and cultural side, Chinook Observer and The Daily World spotlighted harvest and food traditions including clam digging starting Oct. 6, razor clam updates, hot salmon fishing, oyster farm challenges, and the NW Garlic Festival.
The Columbian covered both local oyster industry concerns and accessible state parks near Vancouver, while The Seattle Times and Field Mag recommended underrated parks and hikes for fall adventure seekers.
Additional regional coverage spanned Willapa Bay birding, cranberry farming traditions, bizarre roadside attractions, and even a costumed celebration of Mrs. Roper lookalikes.
Features from Northwest Travel & Life Magazine, My Family Travels, and Ever After In The Woods praised the area as a budget-friendly fall destination, a place of small coastal villages, and home to must-try seafood restaurants.
As seasonal change brings cooler weather and migratory wildlife, the Evergreen Coast remains firmly planted in the hearts and headlines of travelers, nature lovers, and heritage enthusiasts.
