Nerikomi Mugs Clay Play
In this one-day workshop, students will explore the art of nerikomi by combining pigmented clays with naturally colored clay bodies to create layered compositions within slabs. Through cutting, stacking, and arranging colored clay, participants will develop bold patterns and visual movement embedded directly into the material itself. These custom slabs will then be formed into functional mugs, allowing the pattern to wrap seamlessly around the form. Students will leave class with their mugs ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
