In this one-day workshop, students will create a functional catch-all tray using slab construction techniques. Starting with a simple base form, participants will explore ways to customize and elevate their designs through the addition of lips, compartments, dividers, and impressed decorative elements.
The class will focus on thoughtful design and organization, creating pieces that are equally suited for holding keys, jewelry, office supplies, or other everyday treasures. Students will be encouraged to personalize their trays through texture, pattern, impressed designs, and unique structural details.
The second half of class will be dedicated to underglaze application, offering the opportunity to add color, graphic elements, and surface design that complement the form.
Students will leave class with their trays ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
