More Information:
In this one-day workshop, students will create a ceramic honey jar complete with a fitted lid and a custom notch for a honey dipper. Using a combination of slab-building and coil construction, participants will build a rounded vessel that is both functional and charming.
The class will focus on creating smooth, well-proportioned forms while learning strategies for fitting lids and integrating functional details into the design. Students will also have the opportunity to personalize their jars through texture, pattern, and surface decoration.
The second half of class will be dedicated to underglaze application, allowing participants to add color and character to their pieces. Each finished jar will be paired with a honey dipper provided by the studio.
Students will leave class with their honey jars ready for drying and firing; finished pieces, along with their honey dippers, will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
