More Information:
In this one-day workshop, students will create a versatile ceramic bowl using a bisque mold as a hump mold to establish a clean, balanced form. Whether intended as a soup bowl, salad bowl, or everyday serving piece, the class will focus on creating forms that are both functional and visually appealing.
Once the bowl body is formed, participants will add details such as a foot, surface patterning, and decorative elements that personalize the piece and elevate its design. The class will explore ways to refine proportion, contour, and surface treatment to create a bowl that feels uniquely your own.
The second half of class will be dedicated to underglaze application, offering the opportunity to add color, pattern, and surface design that complements the form.
Students will leave class with their bowls ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
