Knappton Cove Heritage Center, formerly known as Knappton Cove Camp in the 1950’s.
This time of year it’s hard to miss all the fishing activity, from all the boats in the river to the return of the white pelicans furiously gulping away. Step back in time to 1950 and you would have seen Clarence & Katharine Bell’s fishing campground and moorage here at Knappton Cove. They purchased the ‘retired’ Columbia River Quarantine Station and converted the building to run Knappton Cove Camp. The Salmon Derbies were all the rage and oh, were those winning catches BIG!! Come see some of the relics of the era, sip some lemonade, and enjoy the view.
