More Information:
In this one-day workshop, students will use leather-hard slab construction techniques to create a hanging planter designed to bring greenery into any space. The class will focus on building strong, functional forms while incorporating cutouts and attachment points for hanging cord or rope.
Participants will explore ways to personalize their planters through form, texture, and surface design, creating pieces that are both practical and decorative. Whether intended for trailing houseplants, succulents, or herbs, these planters are designed to showcase plants while adding a handmade touch to the home.
The second half of class will be dedicated to underglaze application, giving students the opportunity to add color and surface detail to complement their designs.
Students will leave class with their planters ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
