In this one-day workshop, students will create a slab-built cup using extra-thick slabs of clay. The class will focus on exploring intense texture and surface interest through cutting, twisting, pulling, and manipulating the form. Along the way, you’ll learn a handful of techniques to transform a simple slab cup into a bold, sculptural piece. This class is perfect for students looking to combine functional pottery with expressive, tactile surfaces.
