The Hackles are a folk collaboration from Astoria, Oregon. The band is comprised of Kati Claborn, Luke Ydstie, & Halli Anderson.
Powerful three-part harmonies & an unconventional & nuanced use of guitar, violin, banjo & clarinet combine to create a compelling & unique blend of folk & Americana. All three take lead vocals & contribute as songwriters, imbuing their songs with compassion, humor & a dark honesty.
The band has released four albums, “The Twilight’s Calling it Quits” (2018), “A Dobritch Did as a Dobritch Should” (2019), “Songs for the Fool” (2022), & “What a Beautiful Thing I Have Made” (2023). They have a decade-plus worth of touring under their belts nationally & internationally as The Hackles & as members of Horsefeathers, Blind Pilot (Claborn & Ydstie), & River Whyless (Anderson).
“Highly refined songwriting & awe-inspiring harmonies”- Rough Trade
“Intelligent, highly-melodic song-writing with infectious instrumental hooks, perfectly offset by sumptuous harmonies”- David Pratt, Folk Radio UK
