Raku Coil Vases (+ raku fire 5/30)
In this workshop, students will coil-build vases specifically designed to respond beautifully to raku glazes and firing techniques. The class will focus on creating smooth, intentional forms with generous surface area to showcase the dramatic crackle, metallic flashes, and smoky effects characteristic of raku. Emphasis will be placed on strong construction and clean contours so each piece becomes an ideal canvas for raku surfaces. The raku firing will take place on 5/30, and participants are highly encouraged to attend in order to glaze and experience the firing process firsthand.
