Students will explore form, surface, and illustration through the creation of a soft-slab cup. Session One begins with designing and hand-building your cup using soft slabs while we discuss functional forms and approaches to planning surface imagery. After lunch, we’ll return to apply a base coat of underglaze to the freshly made piece. You’ll learn how to bring your design to life using sgraffito.
