Travel + Leisure Feature, King Tides, State Parks, and Holiday Traditions Highlight Winter Appeal

WASHINGTON’S EVERGREEN COAST – December 2025 capped off a strong year of national and regional media coverage for Washington’s Evergreen Coast, with features showcasing the region’s dramatic winter scenery, expansive state parks, coastal museums, and seasonal traditions that draw visitors well beyond the summer months.

The month’s most significant placement came from Travel + Leisure, which featured the Evergreen Coast in a major article highlighting an underrated U.S. coastline with a rainforest, six state parks, and the longest drivable beach in the country. The story introduced a national audience to the Long Beach Peninsula and surrounding areas as a destination where rugged landscapes, fresh air, and outdoor adventure converge year-round.

Winter’s natural phenomena also captured widespread attention. Final king tides of 2025 were covered extensively by MSN, KING‑TV, Here is Oregon, and other outlets, positioning the Evergreen Coast as a prime location for storm watching and dramatic coastal viewing during the quieter winter season.

Outdoor recreation remained a key theme throughout the month. Oregon Public Broadcasting highlighted First Day Hikes offered at state parks across the Pacific Northwest, while Tri‑City Herald reminded travelers of free park access days in 2026. National Parks Traveler also featured the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, reinforcing the region’s historical and recreational significance.

Cultural attractions received notable attention as well. KOIN‑TV spotlighted the Northwest Carriage Museum as one of the nation’s finest horse‑drawn transportation museums.

Food and fishing stories rounded out the coverage. Centralia Chronicle, and KORD‑FM reported on the opening of Dungeness crab season, razor clam harvest updates, and the annual Crabpot Christmas Tree—celebrations deeply tied to the Evergreen Coast’s working waterfronts and community traditions. Dining coverage also appeared in Fast Food Club, highlighting coastal cafés serving classic Pacific Northwest fare.

Travel inspiration extended into the new year as well. Beach.com named Washington beaches among the top in the U.S. for future travel planning, while Secret Seattle recognized the Evergreen Coast as an overlooked coastal gem. Additional features from outlets like Acquire Remote showcased distinctive lodging options, including Snow Peak’s Jyubako Suites in Long Beach.

Together, December’s media coverage reinforced Washington’s Evergreen Coast as a compelling winter destination—one defined by natural beauty, cultural depth, outdoor access, and authentic coastal experiences.
