WASHINGTON’S EVERGREEN COAST – July 2026 brought continued national and regional media attention to Washington’s Evergreen Coast, with coverage highlighting the region’s charming coastal communities, summer events, beaches, outdoor experiences, and family- and pet-friendly travel opportunities.
The Evergreen Coast’s reputation as a distinctive Pacific Northwest destination was reinforced through national travel coverage throughout the month. The New York Times featured the broader Pacific Northwest coast in its 36 Hours on the Oregon Coast, while Quartz highlighted the region among the best and most charming small towns in the Pacific Northwest. Together, the features showcased the appeal of small coastal communities and the scenic experiences available throughout the region.
Summer beach travel was another major focus in July. Beach.com named destinations along the Pacific Northwest among its 12 Best Pacific Northwest Beach Towns for a Summer Coastal Getaway, reinforcing the Evergreen Coast’s appeal for travelers seeking a classic coastal escape. Hoodline also highlighted the unique relationship between the Long Beach Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean with a story about high tides creating memorable moments along the peninsula.
The Long Beach Peninsula’s signature summer events received significant attention as well. Secret Seattle spotlighted the Washington State International Kite Festival, noting its status as North America’s largest week-long kite festival and celebrating its 45th year with a new international competition. Seattle Met also highlighted Washington activities and destinations in its summer travel coverage, encouraging readers to explore experiences throughout the state.
